Cannabis Professional Certifications
The following cannabis professional certifications are offered
by the Cannabis Therapy Institute.
Certified Cannabis Therapist
The Certified Cannabis Therapist is trained to work with patients
to track and adjust their dosages and methods of ingestion to find
the most effective therapies for individual patients. Topics covered
in the program include issues concerning cannabis administration,
dosage, frequency, safety, and preparations. Students learn how
different cannabis strains affect different conditions. A course
in basic research methods and clinical skills is required, as is
a course on cannabis biology. Electives are offered in complementary
therapies, medicine-making, cultivation, and other topics.

Certified Cannabis Dispensary Worker
The Certified Cannabis Dispensary Worker is trained to work with
cannabis and cannabis patients. Topics in the program include customer
service, intake procedures, patient identification requirements,
spotting fake medical cards, basics of patient care and cannabis
therapy, patients with special needs, confidentiality requirements,
accurate use of scales, proper medicine handling, dispensing methods,
and quality control. Other topics include point-of-sales systems,
safety and security issues, and legal concerns.

Certified Cannabis Patient Advocate
A patient advocate is someone who acts as a liaison on a between
the patient and other entities so that the patient can focus on
healing. A patient advocate supports patients that have to deal
with the health care system, the legal system, government benefits
programs (VA and SSI), employment and housing situations, and other
areas where a patient might need support.
The importance of patient advocacy in the overall health management
program of a patient cannot be understated. A Certified Cannabis
Patient Advocate is trained give support to their patients in a
variety of ways. Caregivers and others who support patients are
encouraged to take this training course to learn how to provide
maximum support for their patient.

Certified Cannabis Caregiver
The Certified Cannabis Caregiver is our highest certification at
this time and comprises a training in a full range of patient care
from therapy to advocacy to production. A Certified Cannabis Caregiver
must complete both the full Certified Cannabis Therapist program
and the full Certified Cannabis Patient Advocate program. In addition,
the Certified Cannabis Caregiver receives training in medicine cultivation
and production.
