VETO HB1284 and SB109
Send a Message to Governor Bill Ritter
Despite some last minute attempts to kill HB1284 in the House,
the bill ultimately passed on Tuesday by a vote of 46 to 19, according
to Denver Channel 7 News:
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/23521888/detail.html
Governor Ritter now has 30 days to sign the bill, veto the bill,
or let the bill pass into law without signing it. Many political
observers believe that Ritter will sign the bill. As a former prosecutor,
he was one of the main proponents of using a Law Enforcement Model
for Colorado's medical marijuana regulations. He helped Senator
Romer craft a bill most favorable to police and prosecutors with
no regard for patients. Governor Ritter has decided not to run for
re-election in November, so these are his last few months in office.
Tell Governor Ritter that citizens want him to veto HB1284 and
SB109 because the bills will harm patients by driving up both the
price of medicine and participation in the program. Ten years ago,
Coloradans voted for Amendment 20 to protect patients right to safe
access to cannabis medicine. These bills restrict patient's rights
and should be vetoed by Gov. Ritter.
